Food mood

What would you like to eat?

A meal, a sweet treat, market shopping or something to take away: choose a focus for the day instead of trying everything at once.

Have lunch here

Handmade soba from local buckwheat flour / zaru soba / shrimp tempura soba

Handmade soba made with local buckwheat flour is the dining area's focus. The shrimp tempura soba highlighted by Kanto Michi-no-Eki comes with three shrimp.

Nagano City lists the dining area as open from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. An arrival outside the usual lunch period may be too late for a meal.

Grab a quick bite

Oyaki stuffed buns

If you cannot wait long in the car, a substantial oyaki stuffed bun makes a convenient choice. Nagano Prefecture's listing mentions oyaki filled with nozawana greens.

Varieties and remaining stock change by day.

Shop for what's in season

Seasonal fresh vegetables and fruit / wild mountain vegetables

The farm shop carries vegetables, fruit and wild mountain vegetables through the seasons. Its selection changes with the time of year.

Deliveries vary, so an earlier visit gives you a better choice of wild produce.

Take something home

Handmade miso and tofu / pickles / jam / dressings / honey / bread / buckwheat and wheat flour

Many of the processed foods keep well, making them convenient tastes of Ooka to take home. The shop also sells buckwheat and wheat flour.

For items such as tofu or pickles that require refrigeration, consider how long the trip home will take.
