How to enjoy

Choose how to enjoy your visit

Eat, shop, play, take in the view or rest. Choose from the station’s strengths to suit your day.

See first
Fresh 251 farm shop

Look here for Iimori potatoes, local vegetables, seafood, cut flowers and prepared dishes. The selection is generally better in the morning.

For a bite
Toge no Korokke and 251 Kitchen

Choose a croquette for a quick bite, or curry and other kitchen dishes for a seated meal. If items sell out or it gets busy, swap the order of eating and shopping.

With children
Toilets, food and the lawn plaza

Shop indoors, then head to the lawn plaza if the weather is good. For a longer play session, continue to Tsuki no Oka Park instead of stretching out the stop here.

On a rainy day
Pair the farm shop with the onsen

Keep shopping and a snack at the station brief, then head to Iimori Tsuki no Oka Onsen for a half day less dependent on the weather.

To go farther
Tsuki no Oka Park, Tsuki no Oka Onsen and Yuinohama

Choose the park or sea in clear daytime weather and the onsen on a rainy day or before heading home. These stops keep travel along National Route 251 relatively short.

Why I like it

Reasons to stop here

01

A station amid the fields where you can buy and eat potatoes

The station's appeal lies less in the size of its building than in its proximity to Iimori's fields. Depending on the season, the farm shop stocks potatoes, local vegetables, cut flowers, seafood and prepared dishes. Croquettes and curry from the kitchen let you eat food from the growing area right here.

02

A useful stop for a short break or a family detour

The farm shop generally opens 8:00–17:00 and 251 Kitchen 8:30–16:30. The information and rest area can be used 24 hours a day. There is also a lawn plaza, covered plaza, experience and training room, and multipurpose community space, so children can spend a little time outdoors after shopping.

03

Add Tsuki no Oka and Yuinohama for a half-day outing

Nearby Tsuki no Oka Park offers play equipment and room to roam; Iimori Tsuki no Oka Onsen offers bathing and food; and Yuinohama Marine Park offers summer swimming and camping. Choose the park or sea in good weather, and the onsen on rainy days or before heading home.

Route idea

Ways to plan your stop

Spend your time at the station or add somewhere nearby. These ideas help you plan around your companions and the weather.

A 30–45 minute break on National Route 251

Buy potatoes and take a short croquette break

After parking, use the toilets, then browse Iimori potatoes and local vegetables in the farm shop. If hungry, try a Toge no Korokke croquette or a kitchen dish. Shopping and snacks are close together, making this a handy stop between the Nagasaki City and Shimabara Peninsula directions.

Parking → toilets → farm shop → croquette or 251 Kitchen → departure

As a new station, it can get crowded on holidays, and popular items may run low later in the day. Keep prepared dishes from the shop or a meal at the nearby onsen as alternatives to a single planned dish.

Families with preschool and elementary school children

Let children move around, then continue to Tsuki no Oka Park

Keep food and shopping at the station brief, then pause at the lawn plaza if the weather is good. For more play, move on to Tsuki no Oka Park, which has hillside play equipment.

Station toilets and snack → lawn plaza → Tsuki no Oka Park

Events and weather can affect use of the lawn plaza. Play equipment can get hot in summer, so prepare hats and water for daytime play.

A half-day drive from after lunch to early evening

Finish with an onsen on a rainy day or before heading home

Pick up vegetables or prepared dishes for dinner at the farm shop, have a light bite, then head to Iimori Tsuki no Oka Onsen. It is next to Tsuki no Oka Park, so you can choose the park in clear weather and the onsen in rain.

Station → Iimori Tsuki no Oka Onsen → home

The onsen closes on the third Wednesday and during the New Year period. Check its final admission time and restaurant hours before leaving.

A summer half day with swimming or camping

Prepare at the station before heading to Yuinohama in summer

Before going to Yuinohama Marine Park, use the station toilets and prepare drinks, snacks and any shopping that needs a cooler. Buying supplies at the Iimori farm shop can make children's meals and dinner on the way home easier to plan.

Station toilets, drinks and snacks → Yuinohama Marine Park → onsen or straight home

Swimming is limited to its opening season and swimming hours. The parking contribution, showers and camping conditions may change each year; check the latest summer notice.

Hiyori Asakura's detour notes

Link eating, shopping and play in one route

Start at the farm shop to see what makes Iimori distinctive, settle hunger with a croquette or kitchen meal, then move to the lawn or Tsuki no Oka Park when children need activity. Choose the onsen in rain and Yuinohama in summer. National Route 251 makes it easy to pick the next stop when family members want different things.

Food

Potatoes are more than a purchase: croquettes and curry let you taste them here.

Shopping

Vegetables, seafood, cut flowers and prepared dishes can carry the visit through to dinner at home.

With children

Keep the station stop short and move to Tsuki no Oka Park for play. Switch to the onsen in hot or rainy weather.

Potato varieties, farm views, hillside play equipment and the sea all add interest.

After seeing local produce at the station, continue to Tsuki no Oka Park or Yuinohama for more than a shopping stop.

Local feel

Reasons to return

Practical ideas and things to consider when spending time here.

At this new station, plan food and farm shop visits separately on holidays

The station has drawn attention since opening, and waits or sellouts for popular croquettes and kitchen dishes can vary by time of day. Plan to switch to the farm shop, prepared dishes or a meal at the nearby onsen instead of relying on lunch alone.

How to buy potatoes changes with variety and season

Iimori potatoes are central to the station's identity. Varieties and quantities change with harvests and deliveries. Use the in-store cooking guidance to choose potatoes for dinner as well as gifts.

Keep outdoor play at the station brief; go to Tsuki no Oka Park for more

The lawn plaza is useful for a break during a drive, but Tsuki no Oka Park has play equipment. If children want more play, decide to move on before everyone tires in the farm shop.

Shopping plus the onsen works well on rainy days

Outdoor plazas and Yuinohama depend on the weather. In heavy rain or wind, shop and snack at the station, then head to Iimori Tsuki no Oka Onsen to keep much of the outing intact.

Yuinohama in summer; the park and farm views in spring or autumn

For summer swimming at Yuinohama, check the opening dates and parking and shower conditions. Spring and autumn suit farm views and park play; in winter, plan a shorter visit around New Year closures and onsen closing days.

About a 20-minute drive from Isahaya IC and JR Isahaya Station

The station is easy to add to journeys toward Nagasaki City, the Shimabara Peninsula or the coast. Make the station a destination in itself, or add Tsuki no Oka and Yuinohama for a half-day drive.

For children, check hunger and toilets before shopping

Adults may enjoy browsing the farm shop shelves, but toddlers can find a long visit hard. Use the toilet on arrival, choose a croquette or prepared dish if hungry, then shop once everyone is settled.

Also useful as a disaster information and rest stop

The information and rest area is available 24 hours a day for road and tourism information. Late at night or early in the morning, use the station for toilets, rest and road updates rather than shopping.
