Michi-no-Eki Hagi Sea Mart is a seafood-focused roadside station next to Hagi Fishing Port and its wholesale market. Fresh fish, local vegetables, processed seafood, and Hagi souvenirs are sold here. Inside are three seafood restaurants: Kihagi (来萩), Ishintei (維新亭), and Hama Ryōri Gangan (浜料理がんがん). It is also near Higashi-Hagi Station and makes an easy driving stop before or after Hagi Reverberatory Furnace, the remains of Ebisugahana Shipyard, Shōkasonjuku Academy, and the Hagi Castle Town area. You can combine a meal and shopping with a break during a visit to Hagi.
Next to Hagi Fishing Port and its wholesale market, browsing fresh fish and processed seafood is part of the experience here. Whether you eat at a restaurant or buy something to take home, it is an easy place to plan a stop around the flavors of Hagi’s sea.
Kihagi (来萩), Ishintei (維新亭), and Hama Ryōri Gangan (浜料理がんがん) offer choices including seafood rice bowls (kaisen-don), sashimi set meals, tempura, boxed meals, and prepared side dishes. Hours and selections differ by restaurant, so check the official restaurant pages if dining is the main reason for your visit.
The station is about 1.8 km from Higashi-Hagi Station and works well as a driving stop en route to Hagi Reverberatory Furnace, Shōkasonjuku Academy, and the Hagi Castle Town area. You can park, use the restrooms, shop, and eat here before heading to the World Heritage sites or castle town.
In winter (November–February), closes at 17:00 every day.
