Why I like it

Reasons to stop here

01

Directly opposite Kofu Interchange, an easy stop on a San'in drive

The station is directly opposite the point where you leave Kofu Interchange on the Yonago Expressway and join National Route 181. According to the official website, Tottori Hanakairo Flower Park and Kamochi Shrine (金持神社) are each about 15 minutes away by car, Yonago and Kaike Onsen about 30 minutes, and Daisen-ji Temple about 40 minutes. It makes a convenient first rest stop after leaving the expressway, or a place to shop on the way home.

02

Visit the restaurant at lunchtime for Oku-Daisen ingredients

Nanairo Kashi is a 30-seat restaurant serving zaru soba (chilled buckwheat noodles) and kama-age soba (hot, freshly boiled buckwheat noodles) made with Oku-Daisen buckwheat flour, an Oku-Daisen okowa set meal based on the local Daisen okowa dish of steamed seasoned glutinous rice, and Oku-Daisen miso ramen made with Furusato Miso Oku-Daisen. Meals are served from 11:00, with last orders at 14:00, so plan to stop around lunchtime.

03

Take home Oku-Daisen flavors from the local products and farm shops

Buna no Mori stocks products sold exclusively here, such as Oku-Daisen shiitake soy sauce and Oku-Daisen sake manju (sake-flavored steamed buns), alongside classic San'in souvenirs. Michikusa-kan sells vegetables harvested that morning, handmade prepared dishes and Meisui Mochi rice cakes, and closes at 15:00. The selection varies by season and day.
