A drive for vegetables, rice, chestnuts, black edamame and other produce
Shop the morning farm stalls and take Nose's seasonal produce home
The morning shelves are this station's main draw. Enjoy seeking out spring wild vegetables, summer sweetcorn, autumn chestnuts and new-crop rice, or winter root vegetables. Parking is limited, so on holidays it is more comfortable to arrive soon after opening, shop, then move on.
Arrive via National Route 173, browse the farm shop first, then stop for a meal or sweets.
Popular goods can run low in the afternoon. Check official news and social media for recent deliveries and events.
A snack stop while driving toward Tamba-Sasayama or Kawanishi
Make a short break taste like Nose with rice balls and chestnut soft serve
Nosemusubi makes its rice balls to order with Nose-grown rice. Even when you do not want a full restaurant meal, a freshly made rice ball makes the stop worthwhile. Add Nose chestnut soft serve for something sweet. You can sample Nose's flavors in a 30-minute visit.
After parking, visit Nosemusubi or the tea shop. Choose where to eat according to crowds and weather.
Nosemusubi and the tea shop may sell out or close early, so avoid counting on an evening visit.
Adult travelers, photography lovers and gentle nature walks
Add rural scenery for a half-day drive
At Noma's Great Zelkova you can see the giant tree and museum; at the Nagatani terraced fields, the landscape of Nose's rice growing. Neither requires a long walk to make an impression, and both give context to the rice and vegetables sold at the farm shop.
Roadside station → Noma's Great Zelkova, or roadside station → Nagatani terraced rice fields.
The terraced fields are working farmland and part of residents' daily lives. View them quietly and briefly without entering private land, field ridges or irrigation channels.
Days when you want to ease driving fatigue, or an option for rain
Finish at the onsen to turn a break into a short trip
Nose Onsen offers day-use bathing, with hours and prices that differ between weekdays and weekends or public holidays. Eat and shop at the roadside station, then finish at the hot spring for a short trip. It also works well in bad weather or when walking among the terraced fields would be difficult.
Roadside station → Nose Onsen.
The onsen may close on Tuesdays or for temporary closures, and stop admitting bathers early when crowded. Check its official calendar if it is a main reason for your visit.
Grapes from mid-August to late September, or autumn chestnuts and new rice
Link the roadside station with a fruit farm in season
Adding a seasonal farm such as Asahi Farm Grape Orchard lets you experience Nose's harvest beyond the farm-shop shelves. Opening days are limited, so check the station's delivery news alongside the orchard's operating information before going.
Roadside station → Asahi Farm Grape Orchard.
The orchard operates seasonally, mainly on weekends and public holidays; confirm opening days, reservations and sales availability in advance.
