Highlights

Mikawa Roadside Station (Kyoboku no Sato, “Village of Giant Trees”) is on National Route 49 in Aga Town. It has Mizu to Kawa no Tofuya (水ト川ノとうふや), a shop with a café space that offers Mikawa tofu made with Yakushi Shimizu spring water, as well as coffee, light meals such as sandwiches, and sweets. It is closed every Monday (this may vary when Monday is a public holiday). This is a different roadside station from the one also named Mikawa in Kumakogen Town, Ehime Prefecture.

    Why I like it

    Reasons to stop here

    01

    Near Shogun Cedar and Yakushido

Shogun Cedar (将軍杉) and Yakushido (薬師堂), a Buddhist hall, are nearby and are described as places to explore the area. Check the visiting conditions for those sites separately from the roadside station’s operating status.

    02

Mizu to Kawa no Tofuya shop and café

The shop carries items such as Mikawa tofu made with Yakushi Shimizu spring water, and the café serves freshly brewed coffee, light meals such as sandwiches, and sweets. Eating in at the café is available until 14:00; after that, takeout only.
