Choose how to enjoy your visit

Eat, shop, play, take in the view or rest. Choose from the station’s strengths to suit your day.

First things on arrival
Find the toilets, play areas and places to eat

With children, a few minutes of orientation helps. Locate the 24-hour toilets in the west area, play equipment and water play in the east area, and the produce market and dining spots.

Food that tastes like this place
Lotus-root dishes and Aisai Milk soft serve

At the food court and aicon, look for noodles made with lotus-root flour, roasted lotus-root soft serve and a monthly changing lunch.

What to take home
Local vegetables, lotus root, processed foods, bread and sweets

The selection of local farm produce changes with the season and time of day. Come earlier for a better choice of lotus root.

When to see lotus flowers
June through August, preferably in the morning

Bloom conditions vary by year and weather. Check the Aisai City Tourism Association's growth updates before setting out for a flower-focused visit.

For rain or intense heat
aicon, the produce market, Hasumi Terrace and indoor events

Combine a meal and shopping with an indoor market or workshop instead of relying entirely on outdoor play.

For a half-day trip
Visit the Sendohira Lock or Kiso Three Rivers Park

Add waterside scenery and history, and HASU Park becomes a starting point for a drive through Aisai and the Kiso Three Rivers area.

Highlights

Fureai no Sato HASU Park is more than a place to shop. Aisai's specialty, lotus root, appears in the farm produce market, food court, and dishes and soft serve at aicon. In the east area, the lotus field connects with Hasumi Terrace, play equipment, a shallow splash pool and a dog run. With a family, locate the play areas and toilets first, then fit food and shopping around them. See the flowering lotus in the morning in summer, or turn to indoor events in rain or intense heat. Add the Kiso Three Rivers and the Sendohira Lock for a half day introduction to Aisai's waterside landscape.

Why I like it

Reasons to stop here

01

Lotus flowers and lotus root bring Aisai together

The first thing to notice here is how the station brings Aisai's lotus identity together. Walk through the flowering lotus field, look for lotus root and local vegetables at the produce market, then try roasted lotus-root soft serve, noodles made with lotus-root flour or a local-ingredient lunch at the food court or aicon. The scenery and food tell the same local story, even on a short stop.

02

It helps to plan the children's route first

The playground, young children's play area, shallow splash pool, lawn and dog run are grouped within the station. On arrival, locate the 24-hour toilets and play areas first; fit a meal or shopping around the children's mood. A play area close to the parking lot can make a long-drive break easier.

03

Hasumi Terrace and indoor events offer options in rain or intense heat

Summer lotus flowers are pleasant in the morning, but the heat builds toward midday. Combine a short outdoor visit with Hasumi Terrace in the east area, an indoor market or a workshop. On fine days, enjoy the flowers and water play; when the weather turns, switch to food, produce shopping and indoor events.

Route idea

Ways to plan your stop

Spend your time at the station or add somewhere nearby. These ideas help you plan around your companions and the weather.

A lunchtime stop from the Yatomi or Nagashima interchange direction

A short Aisai stop to eat and buy lotus root

Browse lotus root and local vegetables in the farm produce market, then eat a lotus-root dish or soft serve at the food court or aicon. Leave time for both shopping and a snack to get a fuller taste of this station.

Parking → farm produce market → food court / aicon → return to the market for take-home purchases

Products and menus change with the season and time of day. At lunch or on event days, keep alternatives in mind rather than counting on a single dish.

Families with preschool or elementary-school children

With children, play before eating or add water play afterward

The playground, young children's play area, splash pool and lawn make the station more than a rest stop for children. Decide whether they will play first or have a short splash after eating; that can make shopping easier for adults too.

24-hour toilets → playground / young children's play area → meal → splash pool or lawn

Bring a change of clothes and sun protection for summer water play. The splash pool is described as about 25 cm deep.

Flower photography, seasonal family walks and short outings with grandparents

For lotus flowers, come in the morning and move indoors later

The flowering lotus field is a highlight from June through August. Walk there in the morning, then switch to Hasumi Terrace, aicon or the produce market as it gets hot. A walking path is described as suitable for wheelchair users.

Flowering lotus field → Hasumi Hill / Hasumi Terrace → aicon → farm produce market

Bloom conditions change with the weather. Check the Aisai City Tourism Association's lotus field updates before visiting.

Drives with dogs toward Nagashima or the Kiso Three Rivers

For dogs, take a short break at the dog run and lawn

The onsite dog run offers a break after a long car ride. People can visit the produce market or get takeout while the dog has a brief change of pace at the dog run or lawn area.

Parking → dog run → takeout / produce market → nearby riverside

On hot days, check the ground temperature and shade and keep the break short. Event days may bring heavier foot traffic.

Unpredictable weekends and summer holidays with children

On a rainy day, combine shopping, food and indoor activities

The flowers and play areas are outdoors, but rainy-day options include the produce market, food court, aicon and indoor programs at Hasumi Terrace. Indoor markets and workshops were announced for August 2026.

Farm produce market → aicon / food court → event on Hasumi Terrace's second floor

Event dates, hours and venues can change. Check the latest official announcements before going.

Learning with older children, outings with grandparents, history and waterside walks

Make a half-day waterside trip with the Sendohira Lock

After enjoying lotus flowers and lotus root at the station, continue to Sendohira River Park and the Sendohira Lock. The scenery along the Kiso and Nagara rivers shows how closely Aisai's history is tied to water.

HASU Park → Sendohira River Park / Sendohira Lock → Kiso Three Rivers area

The park's opening hours and closed days change seasonally. Check its Monday closure arrangements in advance.

Visiting with children

Stars show the editorial recommendation for each age group on a five-point scale. Read the reasons alongside each rating.

Age 1 and under
★★★★☆

A nursing room, diaper changing station and 24-hour toilets make a short visit to the lotus field or produce market easier. In summer, plan an indoor break and avoid the heat.

Ages 2–3
★★★★★

The young children's play area, rubber-chip play surface and shallow splash pool suit this age. Even a short play session before or after eating can make the stop more satisfying.

Ages 4–6
★★★★★

Children this age can enjoy the playground, young children's area, water play and lawn. Bring a change of clothes and sun protection for a longer visit.

Elementary-school age
★★★★☆

Add the flowering lotus field, a visit with the family dog, markets or craft events, or the Sendohira Lock for more variety. Some children may find the playground alone a short visit.

Local feel

Reasons to return

Practical ideas and things to consider when spending time here.

The old Tatsuta area's lotus-root character remains strong after the renewal

Visitor accounts repeatedly mention lotus-root side dishes, croquettes, kabayaki-style grilled lotus root, and sweets and noodles made with lotus-root flour. Even in the new facility, eating and buying lotus root remain central to this station's identity. Kabayaki usually refers to a sweet-savory grilled preparation.

At weekend lunch, spread your visit between food, play and the produce market

Crowds at lunchtime and after television coverage were mentioned even at the old facility. Since the 2026 grand opening, the playground, flowers and dog run have added reasons to visit. If dining is busy, leave room for the produce market, soft serve or play area.

Children's facilities are destinations in their own right

With a playground, young children's area, splash pool and lawn, the station appeals to families with small children. Summer water play is particularly attractive, though adults will want a change of clothes and heat protection ready.

A morning visit is more pleasant for lotus flowers

Flowering lotus is in season from June through August, and the tourism association posts growth updates. See the flowers before lunch, then move indoors as the day gets hotter.

Second-floor activities at Hasumi Terrace help on rainy or very hot days

Announcements for indoor markets and exhibitions in August 2026 show that HASU Park has indoor event options as well as outdoor ones. In rain or intense heat, shorten the flower or playground visit and choose dining, shopping or an indoor program.

Food mood

What would you like to eat?

A meal, a sweet treat, market shopping or something to take away: choose a focus for the day instead of trying everything at once.

Taste Aisai

Roasted lotus-root soft serve / noodles with lotus-root flour / lotus-root side dishes

These foods give your visit a distinctive local flavor. After seeing the lotus flowers, eating the root makes the connection to the landscape clear.

Menus vary by outlet and season.

Sit down for a meal

aicon's monthly changing lunch / pasta with Kiso River shijimi clams

aicon is a useful dining base with grandparents, on rainy days or when children need a calmer break.

Opening time differs between weekdays and weekends or public holidays. Allow extra time at lunch.

Have something light

Food court noodles / sweets / hamburgers / takeout

Useful when children want to play or companions want different foods. A light meal fits between shopping and play.

If eating outside, choose a spot with the heat, wind and crowding in mind.

Take food home

Vegetables from around Aisai / lotus root / processed foods / bread / sweets

The produce market lets you take a taste of Aisai home for a meal, as well as enjoy the visit.

Vegetable and lotus-root selections change by season and time of day.

Cool down on a hot day

Aisai Milk soft serve / roasted lotus-root soft serve / a cafe stop

A brief cool-down after the lotus field or water play is a simple treat for children and adults.

Pair a cold treat with an indoor rest instead of staying outside for too long.
