Why I like it

Reasons to stop here

01

Enjoy gyokuro in the tea room

At Hyogetsutei (瓢月亭), you can enjoy tea while looking out over a Japanese garden. An admission ticket includes gyokuro green tea or matcha and a tea sweet, so allow time for tea separately from shopping.

02

Lunch and souvenirs at Cha no Hana-tei

The restaurant serves dishes such as cha soba, buckwheat noodles made with tea. The local products shop sells local tea, farm produce, tea sweets, and tea utensils. The restaurant closes earlier than the shop, so you can plan lunch before shopping.

03

Check separate cutoffs for the tea room and restaurant

Usually, admission to the tea room ends at 4:30 p.m., while the restaurant takes last orders at 2:30 p.m. The station is listed as about a 10-minute drive from Fujieda-Okabe Interchange on the Shin-Tomei Expressway.
