Start with your likely arrival time, then choose the facilities open at that time. The station-wide registered hours differ from the individual facility schedules, so check Ogawa Village’s pages before departure.

Food mood

What would you like to eat?

A meal, a sweet treat, market shopping or something to take away: choose a focus for the day instead of trying everything at once.

Lunch or an early evening meal

Handmade soba / handmade udon / seafood rice bowls

Mizuna is the main place to eat. Ogawa Village lists it as open 11:00–19:30, later than many roadside station eateries.

It closes every Tuesday and Wednesday. Its regular closing days changed in September 2024, and substitute closure days apply when a closing day falls on a public holiday.

A quick bite

Daimyojin oyaki

The number and varieties available may change by day. Plan around Mizuna’s opening hours.

A stop after noon

Soybean burgers / boxed meals

These are sold by Daizu Shokudo Pachoko, a shop centered on Nishiyama soybeans. The village page says sales start around 12:00.

Pachoko lists Sunday, Monday and Tuesday as closed. The same village page also says sales begin “every day” around noon, so confirm availability before making a special trip.

Take home seasonal produce

Fresh seasonal vegetables / bamboo shoots, edible wild plants and mushrooms / Nō no Hana prepared dishes

Sansan Market stocks vegetables harvested by Ogawa Village farmers; what is on the shelves changes with the seasons.

Its hours follow three seasonal schedules. Winter hours are shorter, 10:00–15:00, and it closes over the year-end and New Year period.
