Harumichi's stopover notes

Shop, eat and let the children play before heading home.

Harumichi Amamiya sees this as an agricultural park worth exploring beyond its farmers' market. Buy vegetables, have lunch at Agritei and let the children move around at Pikaru Plaza. With all three on one site, it is an easy stop for the driver and companions alike.

Shop

Look first for Sugito vegetables, brown rice, onion dressing and flower seedlings, with something to enjoy after you get home.

Eat

Agritei focuses on lunch. Set a meal time before park play to keep the visit simple.

Play

Add Pikaru Plaza and Country Farm to turn a roadside break into a half-day outing.

Why I like it

Reasons to stop here

01

Start shopping for Sugito produce at the market and flower shop

The farmers' market and restaurant are close together by the main building. At the market, look for fresh vegetables grown in Sugito, processed foods, local commercial products and brown rice. Agri Flower Shop, in a large tent in front of the market, also sells flower and vegetable seedlings, gardening supplies and even medaka fish. You can take home things for the garden as well as ingredients for dinner.

02

Make Agritei the reason to stop for lunch

Agritei serves meals built around Sugito vegetables, specially cultivated rice from Saitama Prefecture and ingredients from the farmers' market. For the time being, meals are served from 11:00 to 15:00, while soft-serve ice cream is available until 16:00. Oversized udon portions and vegetable dipping noodles make this a practical lunch stop rather than just a place for a brief break.

03

The park and farm can turn a family stop into a longer visit

Pikaru Plaza has Hidamari Plaza, the Fuwafuwa Dome, a roller slide and other combined play equipment, plus a splash pool. Country Farm offers seasonal vegetable harvesting. Shopping alone can be a short stop; add harvesting and park time and it becomes a half-day outing.

Route idea

Ways to plan your stop

Spend your time at the station or add somewhere nearby. These ideas help you plan around your companions and the weather.

A drive focused on food and shopping

Shop at the market and have lunch at Agritei

On arrival, walk around the farmers' market first to see the seasonal Sugito vegetables, brown rice, processed foods and flower seedlings. If lunch is part of the plan, avoid leaving Agritei too late: its meal service is fairly short. After eating, return to the stalls to decide how much to take home.

Park → farmers' market → Agritei restaurant → Agri Flower Shop → depart.

Direct-sale goods and limited menus depend on stock and the day's service.

Families with preschool and elementary school children

Make harvesting and park play a half-day outing

When crops are ready at Country Farm, children can harvest vegetables themselves as well as buy them. Bring clothes that can get dirty, hats and drinks, then head to Pikaru Plaza after harvesting. The Fuwafuwa Dome is intended for children aged three through elementary school and may be unavailable when wet.

Country Farm → restrooms → Pikaru Plaza → shop at the farmers' market.

At some times there are no crops to harvest, and posted availability may not be updated in real time.

Days when you want to vary the outing by season

Play in the water in summer; shop and visit the hot spring in autumn and winter

In summer, the splash pool and plaza can keep children occupied longer. On very hot days, divide the visit into lunch, soft-serve ice cream and a short water-play session. When outdoor play is less appealing, focus on the market and restaurant, then drive to Utanoyu hot spring.

Summer: farmers' market → water play → sweet treat. Autumn/winter: restaurant → shopping → Utanoyu hot spring.

Check official notices for seasonal and weather-related changes to water play, the dog run and outdoor events.

Adults or families with elementary school children and older

Add a cultural stop on the way toward Kasukabe

After eating and shopping at the station, visit Kasukabe City's Giant Kite Culture Exchange Center, Harukaito, to add local culture to your agricultural park stop. This works well for a drive toward Kasukabe and Showa on a day when you are not spending all your time at the park.

Agri Park Yume Sugito → Harukaito → toward Showa and Kasukabe.

Check Harukaito's closing days and parking capacity before going.

Stars show the editorial recommendation for each age group on a five-point scale. Read the reasons alongside each rating.

Age one and under
★★★☆☆

Works well for a short shopping trip, use of the nursing room and a break in the shade.

Heat and wind affect how comfortable a park visit is. With a baby carrier or stroller, a visit to the market or restaurant and a short stroll through the plaza may be enough.

Ages two to three
★★★★☆

Play briefly at Pikaru Plaza, with the restaurant or car close by.

The Fuwafuwa Dome is intended for ages three and up. Water play and slides can be fun, but weekends may be crowded; short play sessions before or after lunch are easier to manage.

Ages four to six
★★★★★

The Fuwafuwa Dome, roller slide and harvesting experience are often a good fit.

Combining the playground with the farm can make a fuller visit. The Fuwafuwa Dome may be closed when wet, so after rain, switch to harvesting or the farmers' market.

Elementary school children
★★★★★

Harvesting, the plaza, water play and a hot spring can fill half a day.

You could harvest vegetables, eat what you bought at home and finish at Utanoyu hot spring. In summer, a change of clothes and sun protection help with a longer stay.

Water play

Keep towels, a change of clothes and sandals in the car for a change of plans.

Playground equipment

Usual hours are 10:00–16:00. It may be closed when wet.

Meals

Decide when to eat before play takes up too much of the day.

Farm

Shoes and clothes that can get dirty make it easier to let children explore.

A summer destination for families. Check operating dates, hours and weather-related cancellations before preparing for water play.

Dog run on alternate weekends and public holidays

Official event information describes operations on alternate weekends and public holidays, with a summer break. For October 2026, dates are listed for the 10th, 11th, 12th, 24th and 25th. If bringing a dog, check the latest notice.

Country Farm

Harvestable crops change with the season and may include onions, tomatoes, potatoes and carrots. Harvesting ends when crops run out. As of September 26, 2026, official guidance said there were currently no vegetables available to harvest.

Local feel

Reasons to return

Practical ideas and things to consider when spending time here.

Families often come for the park on weekends

Family visitor reviews describe harvesting followed by park play, and the Fuwafuwa Dome and plaza tending to get busy on holidays. If a particular playground attraction is the goal, keep the restaurant and market as alternatives.

Plan around the restaurant's busy period and meal service

Agritei focuses on lunch, and waits can grow when it is busy or for particular dishes. If eating here, starting around 11:00 preserves more options than playing first for too long.

The farmers' market is a place for local shopping rather than a large tourist store

Visitor accounts suggest choosing local vegetables, rice, processed foods, milk or a snack for the road without expecting a huge sales floor. An unusual vegetable or dressing can be a good find on the day.

Summer is easier with water-play supplies

The splash pool, plaza and Fuwafuwa Dome are summer draws. A change of clothes and towels help if a quick visit turns into water play. On very hot days, take breaks in the shade and at the restaurant.

A hot spring makes an easy final stop on the drive

After working up a sweat in the park or farm, drive to Sugito Natural Hot Spring Utanoyu to rest. Decide in advance whether to eat at the station or at the hot spring to make timing easier.

After rain, keep playground and farm plans flexible

The Fuwafuwa Dome may be unavailable when wet, and paths at the farm can get muddy. In rain, focus on the market, flower shop and Agritei, then drive to the hot spring to make the day easier for the family.

Before your visit

Things to check before setting out

Opening and closure days, individual businesses and facilities for children or dogs can affect your plans.

  • Hours, closing days, restaurant meal service and crops available for harvesting may change. Check official notices shortly before visiting.
  • If lunch is the goal, set your time for Agritei before heading to the park or farm.
  • Official guidance says payment is cash only. The restaurant's oversized dishes and Country Farm experiences are also paid for in cash.
  • In summer with children, a change of clothes, towels, hats and drinks make it easier to add the splash pool or plaza.
  • For harvesting, wear shoes and clothes that can get dirty so children can explore more freely.
  • If bringing a dog, check official event information for dog-run dates and the summer closure before setting out.
  • After an active day, a drive to Utanoyu hot spring can round out a half-day outing.
