Reasons to stop here
A new building in 2023 brings the farm shop and restaurant together
The station began as a farm shop opened in May 2000 and was registered in March 2011 as Fukushima Prefecture’s 23rd roadside station. On May 27, 2023, it reopened in a single-story steel-frame building next to the existing facility, with a total floor area of 698.80 square meters. Shopping and dining now share one building, making it easy to take a break from National Route 294 in one place. The old building has not been demolished, and possible uses such as training facilities are being considered.
Start with Tenei rice, local sake and long green onions to take home
The farm shop sells Tenei rice, which has won gold prizes in competitions; local sake brands Hirotogawa (廣戸川) and Suzunoi (寿々乃井); Suzuki Soy Sauce’s naturally brewed, wooden-barrel soy sauce; Tenei long green onions; Tenei yacon; cultivated shiitake mushrooms; Kameya tofu; and sweets including sake manju, steamed buns made with sake, and shiogama. It also carries prepared foods such as okowa seasoned sticky rice, grilled rice balls and fried chicken, plus cut flowers, vegetable seedlings and folk crafts. Stock changes by season and time of day, so come early if you are looking for something particular.
Lunch runs 11:00–15:00, with ramen and sauce katsudon at the center
The restaurant is Gyunyuya Shokudo from Aizu. Alongside soy-sauce ramen, milk-miso ramen and Aizu sauce katsudon, a rice bowl with a sauce-coated pork cutlet, it offers dishes using Tenei ingredients: a Tenei long green onion gyoza set, Tenei long green onion spicy-miso ramen and Tenei ginjo grilled rice bowl. It opens 11:00–15:00, takes last orders at 14:30 and closes every Wednesday, except during busy periods. Outside lunch hours, prepared foods from the farm shop or crepes and gelato from tenant KIRAKU are other options.
Toilets and parking are available around the clock, with charging and roofed spaces
The parking area has 86 spaces for standard cars and 9 for large vehicles and, like the toilets, is listed as available 24 hours a day. The toilets include 3 men’s urinals, 2 men’s Western-style stalls, 6 women’s Western-style stalls and 1 multipurpose toilet; registration information also lists a baby bed. One rapid EV charger is available 24 hours a day. The priority parking area and bicycle parking are roofed. These facilities are useful for breaks in rain or at night and for stops with infants.
